JG - I've had this song stuck in my head the past few weeks after re-acquainting myself with Old & In The Way (triggered by Monte's post about Vassar Clements). Great, great song, and utterly un-pop:

Bake them biscuits baby
Bake em good and brown
When you get them biscuits baked
We're Alabama bound

Now that's a fine example of archetypal Americana imagery!

I could never really understand the lyrics and while listening today finally said "I've gotta look up these lyrics"

Have always loved this tune.

Got Old & in the Way Breakdown a few years back, an excellent addition to my meager collection of commercial releases.
